European Sales Operations Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Operations Manager for Europe to support the European Group Sales Director and assist in leading the growth agenda for WES across all EU markets. The role carries responsibility for helping to driving growth and profitability through the delivery of the sales strategy across the EU, combined with country specific sales operational tasks. Also ensuring that the business retains and attracts new customers through the provision of market leading products and services, documented and portrayed back to such customers through a bid process, working collaboratively with the EU Field Sales team.

Main goal and responsibilities:

The role includes:

  • Translation of company strategy into local business plans and help driving execution of the sales and marketing agenda across the EU. Responsible for weekly measuring of KPI data and reporting key trends and observations to the EU Sales Director
  • Building and Leading the bids and tender library and processes to support the field sales team to achieve the required level of growth both in terms of existing customer retention and new business
  • Managing the Telesales operational tasks to maximize growth opportunities within the small / medium enterprise sector of the market by ensuring call data is loaded and available within the CRM systems. Reporting on its usage and conversion by team
  • Supporting the exploration and capitalizing on new market opportunities through strategic partnerships and associations in order to achieve further volume growth in a cost effective way
  • Assist with the strategy to explore non-network countries through Partners
  • To lead and support marketing initiatives across all channels to deliver profitable volume growth, working closely with central Marketing Dept. in UK
  • To successfully manage the balance between revenue and volume and adhere to the governance frameworks established for the business
  • Build in country relationships with the relevant Exxon Mobil personnel
  • Inspire a sales orientated culture throughout the whole EU workforce
  • Understand Head Office strategy across operational in-country activities, and support local execution


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A professional and analytical sales operations executive/ manager with strong self-led organisational and motivational skills
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to operate at all levels internally and externally
  • Commercially astute and used to working with sales people, with the ability to cut through the noise and uncovered what it being hidden and misdirected – to shine a light on the gremlins
  • Adept at building and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships with Head Office colleagues
  • Cultural sensitivity to geographic and JV environment, including deep knowledge of local consumer behaviour
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate by being that one person in the sales organization you go too if something in HQ needs doing and an office needs walking into to get it done
  • Ability to achieve global alignment of WES strategy, with local application
  • Proven success in working within a matrixed organization – strong influencing and networking skills required
  • Must be a collaborative individual with the ability to manage the balance between the operational requirements of the business whilst achieving sales targets
  • Passion to perform with an obsession for customer experience and impressing others with your wok
  • A ‘can do’ positive attitude
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages a bonus but not required

Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • A graduate with a business related degree in Sales or General Management
  • Previous sales experience, preferably in a b2b corporate office environment
  • Strong attention to detail that knows how to use PowerPoint and Excel to a strong level
  • A friendly, outgoing and personable relationship builder
  • Confident and driven to manage upwards and hold key stakeholders and directors to agreed deadlines
  • Tenacity, strong work ethic with the will to win
  • Worked within Shared Service Centre environment or a multifunctional sales environment
