Assistant Management Accountant

WEX Europe is a leading provider of Fuel cards. We manage a range of flexible fuel cards in several key markets across the continent and has an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Fraud Analyst / Supervisor to join our Credit team at the Headquarters in Crewe.  The role will undertake a range of data analysis to support a growing European Fuel Card Business.

As an Assistant Management Accountant, you will report to the Finance Manager, responsible for assisting with the production of monthly management accounts and accompanying analysis. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts; variance analysis; preparation of month-end VAT returns; liaise with various internal and external stakeholders; balance sheet reconciliations; production of MI information; assist with yearly audit preparation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts for our France operating company
  • including meeting tight reporting deadlines to listed US parent company
  • Variance analysis on monthly Opex reporting
  • Liaise with internal VAT team as necessary
  • Other balance sheet reconciliations – AR, AP, Bank, Accruals and Prepayments
  • Supporting Accounts Payable function
  • Provision of cyclical and ad-hoc management information
  • Supporting the finance administration role in the maintenance of the AR system
  • Assistance with yearly audit preparation
  • Supporting the Senior Finance team with ad hoc business improvement projects

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • AAT qualified/graduate
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of MS Access preferable
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Good relationship builder
  • Attention to detail
  • Superior problem solving skills
  • Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff
  • Strong time management skills
