Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation of monthly management accounts for the International, Norwegian and Telematics businesses under tight reporting deadlines to the US parent
- Preparation of supplementary returns to US head office finance team
- Investigate and explain variances to budget and forecast.
- Work with the FP&A team to prepare detailed budgets and forecasts
- Business Partnering – prepare monthly review of financial and non financial performance for
- discussion with in country lead, MD and FD
- Develop strong relationship with in country lead to enable effective business partnering process
- Manage a junior finance team (2 x part quals)
- Liaison with project team to ensure smooth delivery into finance of system changes and
upgrades
- Maintain a culture of ongoing people development and process improvement
- Maintenance of a strong accounting control environment via monthly balance sheet
reconciliation process
- Review of month end reconciliations and timely resolution of differences
- Manage AR ledgers for relevant businesses
- Preparation of the annual financial statements for statutory entities including liaison with external auditors with support from ECC
- Finance point of contact for staff in Norway office
- Potential ad hoc European travel to assist with compliance obligations e.g. meetings with compliance advisors
- Assistant with finance projects as and when required
Personal Qualities:
- Qualified accountant with min 1 year PQE experience
- Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff
- Comfortable working in a large finance team of approx. 35 staff and liaising with peer group of
- Financial Controllers (4 in total including this role)
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge
- High level of IT literacy including use of databases (MS Access and SQL)
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks whilst retaining responsibility
- Strong organisational skills
- Accomplished communication skills, verbal and written
- Flexible approach and willingness to “roll up sleeves”
- Astute attention to detail, ensuring that as far as possible items presented are ‘right 1st time’
